"Al-ghufr" is a heritage Arabic name for a young ibex; here it is linked to the young of the Nubian ibex, Capra nubiana, without assuming that it is a name exclusive to this species. Ibex horn length develops gradually over the first years, and taxonomically identified reference images of its young exist, but the available image gives no precise body measurements and does not establish the individual's sex or age in months. The appearance of the adult male with large horns must not be used as a model for the young.
