Aurochs

According to the Natural History Museum in London, aurochs were adapted to relatively warm, forested environments; the Museum places their first appearance in the fossil record about 700,000 years ago.

The aurochs ranged across Europe, Asia and North Africa; a recent study shows earlier maps of its Holocene range in Arabia were incomplete.
