A study published in 2001 describes Saudi gazelle skins and skulls at London's Natural History Museum as lacking a dark flank stripe, having dark carpal and tarsal tufts, and bearing straight horns in males and females. It notes that captive animals shared these characters even though genetic data did not support their identification as Saudi gazelles.
