At Mleisa 1 in Abu Dhabi, long trackways record a herd of at least 13 proboscideans crossed by one large solitary individual, probably a male—early evidence of elephant-like social structure. Stegotetrabelodon is the probable trackmaker, though tracks alone cannot identify the species.
