Flora of Pakistan describes olive as a greyish-green tree up to 7 metres tall, with leathery lanceolate leaves about 4 cm long, dark green above and silvery-white beneath because of scaly hairs. The flowers are whitish in cymes, and the fruit is an ovoid drupe 1–2 cm across, blackish-violet when ripe, with oily pulp.
